How to Use a Squeegee to Clean Large Glass Surfaces
Using a squeegee for glass cleaning can make things much more efficient AND effective. It can however, take a little bit of learning up front to nail down the technique. Personally, I’ve trained hundreds of people to clean houses over the years and this is a technique that I’ve watched people have a hard time with up front, but once they get it down it makes things so much easier!
Before we dive in, I want to emphasize that The Tidy People Glass Cleaner is the best eco friendly non-toxic plant based glass cleaner I’ve used. Yes, I’m biased because it’s my own product. Yet, I’ve heard this from quite a few people that it’s the best eco glass cleaner anyone has tried. With your purchase, you get access to our cleaning library which will give you detailed step-by-step tutorials on how to glass clean with and without a squeegee. We’re the first cleaning product that teaches people HOW to clean!
Surfaces that you’ll want to use a squeegee for:
🪞 large mirrors
🪑 glass tabletops
🚪 glass sliding doors
🪟 windows
✨ any other large surface area containing glass
I recommend the Ettore Backflip Squeegee which is a two part system:
(1) the scrubber loosens dirt+debris
(2) the squeegee removes the loosened dirt+debris+glass cleaner
Instructions
The purpose of the squeegee is to clean glass in a way where there is minimal glass cleaner left behind. This is a “touch free” method that minimizes streaking.
You’ll find that with more practice, you’ll be a pro at maneuvering the squeegee. Always have super dry towels on hand to clean up the remaining bits of glass cleaner. The purpose of the towel is to help polish the surface dry and to remove streaks.
